ABCABC has added a “Dy-No-Mite” cast to the upcoming holiday-themed Good Times episode for their second Live in Front of a Studio Audience event from Jimmy Kimmel and Norman Lear.
Like the first live event in May, the second will once again present two live recreations of classic sitcoms. The first paired All in the Family and The Jeffersons, while the second will pair episodes of All in the Family and Good Times.
The Good Times cast will include Viola Davis and Andre Braugher as Florida and James Evans, respectively, roles originally payed by Esther Rolle and John Amos. Jay Pharoah will play J.J. Evans, originally played by Jimmy Walker, while Asante Blackk will play Michael Evans, Corinne Foxx will star as Thelma Evans, and Tiffany Haddish will play Willona Woods. Jharrel Jerome has also been cast in an undisclosed role.
Also making appearances for what is described as “a show-stopping musical performance” will be black-ish‘s Anthony Anderson and the legendary Patti LaBelle.
The Good Times cast joins the previously announced cast members for All in the Family, which include Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Ellie Kemper and Ike Barinholtz. They are all set to reprise their roles from the first Live in Front of a Studio Audience as Archie and Edith Bunker, Gloria Stivic and Mike ‘Meathead’ Stivic, respectively. Meanwhile, Kevin Bacon, Jesse Eisenberg and Justina Machado have also been tapped for new role that will be announced live.
Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family and Good Times airs on Wednesday, December 18 at 8 p.m. ET.
