Over the weekend, Fox shared in a statement that she was diagnosed with the virus and would not be hosting E!’s Emmy red carpet as planned.

“I am terribly sorry I cannot be with my E! family tonight!,” said Fox’s statement during the Emmys 2020 pre-show. “Unfortunately, I have tested positive for coronavirus. So, in an abundance of caution, I am isolating myself at home.”

“During these unprecedented times, it’s more important than ever that we follow all safety and health rules and guidelines to protect ourselves and each other,” she continued, sending well wishes to Nina Parker and Brad Goreski, who ended up hosting the show.

“Congratulations to all of tonight’s nominees. I look forward to seeing everyone again soon,” she ended her statement.

Fox’s cancellation comes shortly after her E! Emmy pre-show cohost, Giuliana Rancic, also announced on Sunday that she wouldn’t be hosting because of a COVID-19 diagnosis.
