Lester Cohen/Getty Images via ABCAn inspiring video of Rihanna‘s trip to the African country of Malawi, which is considered as one of the poorest in the world, has surfaced.

In the clip, RiRi and representatives from her Clara Lionel Foundation, are seen meeting with high-ranking political figures in a conference along with children and educators in the classroom as she learns firsthand about the widespread poverty and educational system in Malawi.

The celebrity’s Clara Lionel Foundation was created in 2012 to support and develop world-class educational programs in her home country of Barbados and other countries.

Earlier this year, Rihanna accepted Harvard University’s prestigious Humanitarian of the Year award. She was also honored at Parsons School of Design’s annual benefit this May.

The “Work” singer is launching a design fellowship that will send three Parsons Design students to Port-au-Prince, Haiti this summer to work with local artists on a line of merchandise that will benefit the Clara Lionel Foundation.
