ABC/Rick RowellAfter BET announced an October 23 release date for Tyler Perry‘s upcoming drama series The Oval and Sistas, the network has unveiled the first look at both new shows.
In the trailer for The Oval, Ed Quinn plays Hunter Franklin, the newly elected president of the U.S., who literally goes to war with his wife, Victoria, played by Kron Moore, behind the scenes.
“You will not ruin this for me,” says Victoria to her husband in the explosive new trailer.
As previously noted, The Oval revolves around a “picture-perfect First Couple” who behind closed doors are anything but perfect. The scripted drama is said to explores lies, cheating and corruption in the White House. The series will also star Paige Hurd and Daniel Croix Henderson.
Meanwhile, Perry’s second drama Sistas, will follow a diverse set of black women who bond over the fact they’re all single.
In the trailer, KJ Smith, Ebony Obsidian, Mignon Von and Novi Brown are seen navigating through their not so easy journeys of being single.
“All we really want to do is just be us– be women!,” says Obsidian in the promo.
Both series, which are part of Perry’s multi-year content deal with Viacom, are written, directed and executive-produced by Perry.
BET will air The Oval at 9 p.m. and Sistas at 10 p.m. ET on October 23.
