Tyler Perry may be officially hanging up his Madea wig, but the outspoken grandma will apparently live on, thanks to BET+.

BET has announced they’ll stream Madea’s Farewell Play starting August 27 on BET+. The production is Perry’s final stage run as Madea, a character that was instrumental in launching the director’s career in film and television.

“Tyler Perry’s Madea burst onto the scene and entered our hearts over 20 years ago, and we are honored to share this final stage performance with BET+ subscribers,” said BET+ general manager Devin Griffin in a statement. “Now, more than ever, is the time to celebrate family and unity and Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Farewell Play does just that.”

In addition to Perry, Madea’s Farewell Play features Cassi Davis, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Kwaylon Rogers, Alexis Hollins, Anthony Lewis, Jacobi Brown, Ashlee B. Gillum, Walter Fauntleroy, RaVaughn Brown, and Kendrick Mays. It follows Madea as a gun-toting gradma who attempts to “fix” her family’s chaotic life during her great-grandson’s law school graduation.

Directed, written and executive-produced by Perry, Madea’s Farewell Play was filmed during its farewell tour earlier in the year.
