Philippians 2:4 says “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others”, and gospel music legend Karen Clark Sheard is doing just that! Detroit native Sheard along with her husband Bishop J. Drew Sheard are helping their neighbors in Flint by collecting water this week.
“Bring your cases of bottled water…as we send water to Flint,” said Clark Sheard, who sent out the request on Facebook.
Flint’s water supply is filled with toxic levels of lead which has caused a crisis that has become a federal emergency.
The Sheard’s are asking that residents in the Detroit area drop off water at their church Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God In Christ this week.
