Marvin Sapp’s “Never Would Have Made It” Gets Sampled…Again!

by

Marvin Sapp‘s monster hit from 2007 “Never Would Have Made It” has been sampled by singer Teyana Taylor on her song “Never Would Have Made It” from her Kanye West produced album K.T.S.E.

This isn’t the first time that Sapp’s song has been sampled, last year DJ Khaled and Chance The Rapper used the song on their song “I Love You So Much.”

Sapp responded to the use of his song through a Facebook post.

“Music has the ability to be timeless and universal. In 2006 when I wrote this song in a worship service after the death of my father initially I never intended it to be heard. It was something I thought God gave me to get through my rough time. 12yrs later it’s still touching and changing lives universally. Amazingly enough last year it was @djkhaled and @chancetherapper on #ILoveYouSoMuch. This year it @teyanataylor #NeverWouldHaveMadeIt produced by #KanyeWest #MyMessageIsTheSame #Grateful #Favored #Amazed #Honored”
