Internet Pioneer, AOL, Ending Dial-Up Services

AOL, the internet pioneer that introduced millions of Americans to the online world, is shutting down its dial-up service next month.

The company, which played a key role in bringing the internet to the mainstream in the 1990s and early 2000s, recently announced on its website that it “routinely evaluates its products and has decided to discontinue Dial-up Internet” as of September 30, marking the end of over three decades of service.
