Maxwell released his debut album Urban Hang Suite twenty years ago this week. The project was certified platinum twice and received a Grammy nomination for Best R & B Album. Maxwell’s sound was spiritual, inspirational, smooth and it wasn’t long before he was recognized as a notable producer/performer in the music industry and a sex symbol.
Maxwell was influenced by the greats like Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Prince.
