Lauryn Hill: This Day In Black History

In the summer of 1998 the ‘Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ debuted at number one selling 422,624 copies in the first week.  Lauryn Hill received 10 Grammy nominations for her solo project. On February 24, 1999 during the 41st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, Lauryn Hill won five awards, making her the first woman to receive that many nominations and awards on on night.

Since it’s release it’s been regarded as one of the greatest albums of the 1990’s ans considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time.  It is listed in the Library of Congress in the National Recording Registry.  “How you gonna win when you ain’t right within”
