Taraji P. Henson: Harvey Weinstein Denied Her Huge Role

by

Taraji P. Henson like many Hollywood actresses has had a run-in with Harvey Weinstein but not for sexual harassment.   In her 2016 memoir, Taraji P. Henson told a story about a producer overlooking her for a role. It was the role of a wild stripper mom in the dramedy, St. Vincent. The role went to Naomi Watts. She won a SAG Award for it. Now Taraji has named the producer who overlooked her and it was Harvey Weinstein. In a statement from Harvey Weinstein it reads in part, Ms. Henson is a terrific actor who starred in five films connected to Weinstein. The statement continues to name all of the black actors and black movies that have been connected to Harvey Weinstein over the years.
