Serena Williams Wins First Title As Mom

by

Serena Williams has won her first title since giving birth to her daughter Olympia. It’s the 23-time Grand Slam winner’s first WTA title in three years.  Serena Williams won the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand. This is her first tennis title since becoming a mom three years ago. She won her last title back in January 2017 when she was actually pregnant with her daughter. After winning she announced she will donate her earnings of $43,000 in prize money to the Australian bushfire relief. This Wednesday she will join Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to play in a charity match that will raise funds to combat the fires. The tennis champion has spent a lot of time during her career playing in Australia.

“It is really hard for me to watch the news and everything that has been happening in Australia with the fires and over 1 billion animals  and people have lost their homes.”   Serena Williams
