We have learned the sister of U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters has passed away from COVID-19 complications, according to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch. If you remember in April while introducing a bill that would provide additional relief from the economic devastation of the virus, Congresswoman Waters announced that her sister Velma Moody, was dying from the coronavirus. At that time Waters also vowed, I am going to take a moment to dedicate this legislation to my dear sister who is dying in a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, right now infected by the coronavirus. The Coronavirus Pandemic is disproportionately ravaging the black community and we lack a national strategy to address the highly contagious virus.
