Twitter is instituting a few changes in the lead up to the presidential election next month, both for the candidates and regular users. Starting Friday, the social media giant will slap warnings on politicians who post lies, restrict premature declarations of victory, and block calls for polling violence or other disruptions. If a user hits the retweet feature, a message will popup encouraging the addition of their own thoughts before posting. In a blog post, Twitter admitted it has a “critical role to play in protecting the integrity of the election conversation”. Have you noticed changes to your social media in advance of the election?
Remember early voting in Texas October 3rd thru October 30th.
