Congratulations are in order for Tyler Perry who just took home a second honorific title this month. Fresh off being named the People’s Champion at the People’s Choice Awards, the actor and filmmaker has been crowned WSJ. Magazine’s Entertainment Innovator of the Year. The November issue features Perry on the cover, plus an interview where the 51-year-old details his accomplishments while noting this past year’s hardships. Back in September, Perry received the Television Academy’s 2020 Governors Award owing to his “his unprecedented achievements in television” and “commitment to offering opportunities to marginalized communities.”
