De La Soul’s classic music has not been available on streaming services due to the legal issues the group has had with Tommy Boy Records involving contracts and samples. This will change due to Reservoir’s $100 Million acquisition of the Tommy Boy catalog. A spokesperson for Reservoir said, “We have already reached out to De La Soul and will work together to the bring the catalog and the music back to the fans.” De La Soul has been very vocal about their frustrations with Tommy Boy Records and hopefully now can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
