Coco Gauff Withdraws from Olympics Due To Positive Covid-19 Test

Seventeen -year-old tennis star Coco Gauff has had to withdraw from the upcoming Tokyo Olympics after testing positive for Covid-19. Gauff made the announcement on her social media, saying, “I am so disappointed to share the news that I have tested positive for COVID and won’t be able to play in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.” Guaff is still hopeful that she’ll be an Olympian one day, saying, “It has always been a dream of mine to represent the USA at the Olympics, and I hope there will be many more chances for me to make this come true in the future.” The tennis sensation was expected to lead the 12-person team for the U.S. As a precaution, this year’s Olympic games will not involve fan attendance.
