The latest addition of Barbie “Inspiring Women” series is honoring Black journalist Ida B. Wells with a doll. The doll is part of the company’s effort to educate and provide a history lesson for young girls. Ida B. Wells was a slave born in 1862 and went on to become a journalist. She was actively involved in exposing racism in America by writing about the horrors of lynching. The doll goes on sale on Martin Luther Jr Holiday on Monday.
