Frances Tiafoe is the last remaining America male representing the U.S. at the U. S Open.  His name is not a household name but after the U.S. Open 2022 it just may be. The 24-year-old defeated Rafael Nadal (ranked #3) and went on the win against Russia’s Andrey Rublev in straights sets in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. He is the first Black man to make it to the U.S. Open semifinals since Arthur Ashe in 1972.  His family enrolled him in a free tennis clinic at the age of five. His story is inspiring on so many levels.  He plays (#3) Carlos Alcarez tonight in the ‘Men’s Semifinals’ on ESPN at 7pm cst.
