Lauryn Hill performed to a near-empty Superdome in New Orleans at the end of the Essence Festival.
The festival lineup had run hours behind schedule, and Hill reportedly took the stage at 2:30 a.m.
Hill, 50, was seen bantering with the small crowd in the 83,000-person stadium and taking requests.
