Anyone who watched the Inauguration festivities may have noticed that Kamala Harris, Michelle Obama, Hilary Clinton, and Elizabeth Warren wore outfits with purple or shades near purple. And there are two reasons for this. One is that it is a bipartisan color. According to Marie Claire, “the literal mix of red, for the Republican party, and blue, for the Democratic party. This could be interpreted as a symbol of Harris’s point of view as she starts this next chapter, and perhaps her desire to unite both sides of the aisle.” Another reason is that purple is the color of the suffragette movement. Purple is also the color of royalty. Did the inauguration outfits make you want to go buy a long jacket or trench coat?
