Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” sold 332,000 equivalent album units in the week through August 4. It sits in the top spot on the Billboard 200.
Adele’s album 30, released in December, was the most recent example of a female artist making a top debut.
The Houston native, 40, has released seven solo albums, the latest of which is Renaissance.
Her most recent solo album prior to that was 2016’s Lemonade, which has just crossed one billion streams on Spotify.
