Michelle Obama Sits With Tracee Ellis Ross For LA Book Tour Stop

by

Tracee Ellis Ross almost did not do blackish because she didn't like Anthony Anderson

Our former first lady, Michelle Obama, has set out on her highly anticipated book tour. She made her stop in Los Angeles last week and had Tracee Ellis Ross host the discussion. As apart of the conversation, Michelle Obama was very transparent in discussing her relationship with our former president, Barack Obama, the troubles they have endured throughout their marriage and even added how much she appreciated going to marriage counseling in hindsight.

Ellis took to Instagram to express her gratitude and honor to sit in conversation with Michelle. See her Instagram post below.

STILL PROCESSING ~ what an incredible honor it was to sit in conversation with @michelleobama and discuss ‘Becoming’, a book about her extraordinary life. i worked so hard on all my questions, but the moment became a warm conversation filled pearls of wisdom and a lot of laughs. she was nothing short of amazing!  becoming is revealing, rich with wisdom and humanity, sobering, filled with dignity and grace, unapologetic, honest and uplifting. it pushed me into my own memories, made me think and moved me to tears. she pulls things apart in a granular way, naming the ingredients and ultimately sharing the recipe; a testament to what is possible. it’s an extension of what she did and who she was as First Lady, a furthering of. and now we get to carry her with us, in our hands and in our hearts. i look forward to reading it over and over and over again. #iambecoming
