Back in 2002, Oprah Winfrey made a pledge to Nelson Mandela that she would provide access to world-class educational services and resources for under privileged girls in South Africa. This week marked the 7th year of success and commencement for Oprah’s Academy for Girls.
When asked how she chooses these girls Oprah explained she looks for something special, something that sparkles and is unique. Tyler Perry was the commencement speaker for the evening. Congrats to Oprah on 7 years of commitment to her pledge, and congrats to the 50 South African girls who graduated.
