Last week, Gayle King’s interview with R. Kelly on CBS This Morning went viral and became the butt of many jokes on social media. Moreover, her interview with two of R. Kelly’s live-in girlfriends was quite disturbing as they took to television to publicly defend him. Gayle was taken back by one girlfriend’s, Azriel Clary, attitude and approach. Gayle explained, “I was surprised that that was the tactic she chose to take. But what am I going to do? I’m not going to start screaming and hollering at her.
Gale went on to explain what she wish she could’ve said to the girls although she chose not to instead.
Gale stated: “What I wanted to say — but I didn’t want to get snippy with her the way that she got snippy with me— was, “Listen, listen, little girl, you don’t even know what you’re saying right now. And one of these days you’re going to regret this moment. You’re going to regret this moment, you’re going to regret this time in your life.” But I saw no point in chastising her or, as the young children say, breaking bad with her the way she did with me.”
