Hip Hop restaurant in Des Moines will no longer be a Hip Hop restaurant

Hip Hop restaurant in Des Moines will no longer be a Hip Hop restaurant. The restaurant, Me So Hungry, has offered both African Americans and Asians. “It’s going to be a really fun place and all the [1990s] music will be family friendly,” is what Sarah Cattoor told the Des Moines Register. Sarah co-owns the restaurant with Ryan Greening. They’re being accused of co-opting hip-hop and black food culture. Southern and soul food, including chicken and waffles WERE on the menu. The uproar has caused the two to instead open an Eggs and Jam restaurant. More here.
