First Lady Michelle Obama’s hair is one of the main topics of discussion because it’s always on point, but a lot of people assume that it’s relaxed but her hair stylist Johnny Wright says that like many other African-American women across the country, the First Lady is natural…and has been for years.
Wright says that he made the suggestion that she go natural back in 2008 before her speech at the Democratic National Convention.
“She was a little reluctant because she’d just had a relaxer a couple days before,” he said. “I think she knew that I wanted to put my stamp on it. She agreed, a little reluctantly, but she agreed. But I remember the next morning after the speech. The speech was widely popular, but everybody talked about her hair.”
