Courtesy of MTVWith the success of MTV’s TRL reboot, the network has decided to revive another classic MTV staple: the pioneering hip-hop show Yo! MTV Raps.
The network announced on Wednesday that it’s throwing an epic hip-hop concert on June 1 in celebration of the original show’s 30th Anniversary.
The event, entitled Yo! MTV Raps: 30th Anniversary Experience, will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, with an impressive line-up that includes some of the notable stars who were featured on the series.
The lineup includes Daddy Kane and the Juice Crew, Eric B. and Rakim, Doug E. Fresh, KRS-Oneand Boogie Down Productions, EPMD, Flavor Flav, Melle Mel & The Furious Five, the Pharcyde, Brand Nubian, Nice And Smooth, Onyx, Black Sheep, Das EFX, Special Ed, Yo-Yo, Kid Capri, and Young Black Teenagers.
Hosts from the series will also be present, including the legendary Fab 5 Freddy, Ed Lover, Doctor Dré, and T-Mone and DJs Skribble, Red Alert, and Chuck Chillout.
The event, which will be livestreamed on MTV, will also include special tribute videos from Eminem, Method Man, Redman, and more.
Tickets to the Yo! MTV Raps: 30th Anniversary Experience show go on sale this Saturday, April 21 at noon ET.
