One outstanding Tarrant County 16-year who is headed to law school this year — yes, you read right … LAW SCHOOL — had the honor of introducing a Democratic presidential candidate during a stop in the D-FW Friday. Taylor Schlitz was identified as ‘gifted’ at age 13, after her parents started home-schooling her in 5th grade. Schlitz has been accepted to nine different law schools by has decided to stay close to home at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law
Schlitz was on hand yesterday to introduce U.S. Senator Kamala Harris who brought her presidential campaign to traditionally GOP territory for a ‘community conversation’ sponsored by Tarrant County Democrats in Grapevine. She told the crowd that Harris represents real #BlackGirlMagic.
“When I see her, I see hope. As a black girl in America, I can share w/ you that seeing someone in a position that redefines stereotypes & breaks glass ceilings is powerfully inspiring. For millions of girls like myself, [@KamalaHarris] is #BlackGirlMagic.” -Haley, Grapevine, TX pic.twitter.com/IwVc0w3Ntr

For her part, Harris took to the stage shortly after news broke that the Mueller report had been released to the Justice Department. She reiterated what many have said, saying that the report should be released to the public. In making a case to be the next president Harris repeated a comment made on the Jimmy Kimmel show recently that she “knows how to prosecute a case against Donald Trump.”
Harris had a receptive crown inside, but was met with protesters outside, some saying, “She should go home,” others chanting “Keep Tarrant County Red.”
Ppl ask me who inspires me in the legal world. Last night I got to meet & introduce 1 of those women who inspire me. It was such an honor 2 meet my #BlackGirlMagic inspiration last night @KamalaHarris & her sister @mayaharris_ Thank you #KamalaHarris 4 inspiring the nxt gen pic.twitter.com/11Vtd1JuLQ
