Cardi B says she wants to be a politician

by

Raymond Hall/GC ImagesWill she be called President Cardi B in the future?  The “I Like It” artist took to Twitter on Sunday and mulled over the possibility of getting involved in politics.

“I think I want to be a politician. I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Goverment,” Tweeted Cardi.

As for why she doesn’t see eye to eye with some government officials, the 27-year-old explained, “Like I was watching War documentaries.  No matter how many weapons a country have you need people!”

She further elaborated on what inspired her to take a stand, “How are you trying to go against a country and possibly start a war when this country lacks patriotism? I barely see people claiming they LOVE being American.”

Cardi is most likely referencing the escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran.

The rapper’s comment sparked a firestorm of comments on Sunday with fans either vehemently supporting or disagreeing with her.

The extended commentary led Cardi to post one final tweet about the matter, in which she promised, “I will have to explain a lot so I will have to do a video or a live talking about it …So imma come back to my last two tweets another day. Imma talk about it another day.”

Cardi B’s interest in politics isn’t exactly sudden.  In August, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper interviewed Senator Bernie Sanders and mutually discussed the biggest challenges Americans face, such as health care.

That said, Atlanta-based rapper could very well become the newest (and youngest) member of the House or Senate, should she decide to run for either.

Two Senate seats are up for grabs in Georgia this year.  However, Cardi could also square off against incumbent Lucy McBath, who represents Georgia’s 6th congressional district, in which the rapper lives.
