Rihanna‘s ANTI has returned to the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
According to Billboard, her eighth studio effort sold 166,000 units and climbed from No. 27 to No. 1, marking the biggest single-week jump to the top position in eight years. ANTI is the singer’s second effort to top the albums chart, following 2012’s Unapologetic, which sold 238,000 copies in its opening week.
“#ANTI is the number 1 album on the Billboard #Hot200 chart!!! That damn Navy!!! Thank you for your love,” Rihanna tweeted.
Elsewhere, Kevin Gates’ Islah follows close behind Rihanna in second, selling 112,000 equivalent units, 93,000 in pure album sales.
Rihanna and Kevin’s respective debuts mark the first time the Billboard 200’s top two titles are from the R&B/hip-hop genre since October 2015, when Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable debuted at #1 and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness rose to #2.
