Starz EntertainmentJust before Sunday’s episode of Power Book II: Ghost, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson dropped the trailer for the next installment in the popular Power franchise.
“I think you’re gonna really dig [Power Book III:] Raising Kanan. I’m coming with some heat, he wrote on Instagram, sharing the trailer. “From executive [producer] Curtis 50 Cent Jackson.”
Raising Kanan follows the early years of 50’s Power character, Kanan Stark. With A Tribe Called Quest’s “Excursions” playing in the background, the series trailer highlights the ’90s era in New York with a series of photographs of Mekai Curtis as young Kanan and other happenings which led to his character’s ultimate demise in the Power series.
“You already know how my [story] ended — this is how it started,” says 50 in the trailer. “This is my story. This is a Southside Jamaica, Queens story.”
Power Book III: Raising Kanan will makes its debut on Starz next summer with an ensemble cast including Joey Bada$$, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Lovie Simone, Patina Miller as Kanan’s mother, Hailey Kilgore as Kanan’s cousin Jukebox, Omar Epps as Detective Malcolm Howard and more.
Earlier this month, 50 previewed the Raising Kanan theme song, “Part of the Game,” featuring himself, NLE Choppa and rising singer Rileyy Lanez.
Before 50 digs into the next chapter, tune into the Power Book II season finale airing Sunday, December 3 at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
