Alicia Keys’ Yoga Instructor Shares How the Singer Maintains Her Youthful Glow


RCA RecordsAlicia Keys made headlines last year after going makeup-free for public events and appearances.  

However, the recording artist’s flawless skin can be credited, in part, to her Kundalini yoga instructor, Guru Jagat, who directly works with the superstar.  

Jagat gave Entertainment Tonight a few secrets regarding just how Keys maintains her youthful glow by practicing the power of yoga.  

“There’s so many breaths and postures to keep the skin glowing and keep the body in a vital place, and also the mind,” she says.

“The pituitary gland, the pineal gland, the hypothalamus, these kind of glandular centers in the brain, those are solely responsible for the way you age. Every time you do a Kundalini Yoga Kriya, meditation, it stimulates those parts of the brain centers.” 

It’s no wonder that Alicia continues to learn from Jagat, who also shares the true meaning of the ancient exercise.

“As human beings, we’re wired for happiness. That’s what Kundalini means. Kundalini is about your inherent birth right of happiness….it’s just about you being you,” Guru adds.
