Ari Lennox defends Lizzo’s “thong dance” at Lakers game

by

Atlantic RecordsLizzo was the center of attention at Sunday’s Los Angeles Lakers game against the Minnesota Timberwolves when she showed off her thong as she twerked when she heard her platinum song, “Juice.” Her “thong dance” ignited a social media backlash, and Ari Lennox, who opened for her “Cuz I Love You Too Tour,” has come to her defense.

“This the most contradicting and ignorant s*** I’ve seen in a long time,” the “Got Me’ singer tweeted. “This has been the year of beautiful women in all shapes in thongs and now there’s problem….”

As people continued to blast the “Truth Hurts” singer for flaunting her derriere, Lennox again responded

“I know this is late but I’m tired!!! Stop using my name and my previous rant to bash and body shame Lizzo,” she tweeted. “For the last time my previous rant was no diss to her. I’m not here for that ignorant s*** and want no inclusion!!!”

There were rumors of a beef between the two artists when Ari was shut out at the Soul Train Awards, while Lizzo won two trophies. Lennox was so upset about not winning, she announced she was quitting music.

It appears that Lizzo’s provocative dance was directed toward one player, Timberwolves all-star center Karl-Anthony Towns, who wears number 32.

In a courtside television interview during the game, Lizzo declared,” I’m personally cheering for number 32.  That’s my baby.”

Lizzo then did an instant remix on “Truth Hurts,” changing the line “New man on the Minnesota Vikings” to “New man on the Minnesota Timberwolves.”

No word yet on whether Towns has responded to Lizzo’s admiration.
