Ava DuVernay’s OWN romance anthology series, ‘Cherish The Day,’ sets its season one stars

Xosha Roquemore/Couresty of OWNAva DuVernay‘s upcoming romance anthology series, Cherish The Day, has set its lead actors for its first season.

According the announcement, The Mindy Projet‘s Xosha Roquemore and Underground star Alano Miller have been tapped to star as Gently James and Evan Fisher. During the season, the couple will meet and fall in love in Los Angeles, with the rest of their romance to unfold over five years during the eight episodes. 

As previously noted, DuVernay’s series is said to chronicle the “stirring romance” of one couple per episode, each of which will span one single day. The season will include, “significant moments in a relationship that compel us to hold true to the ones we love.”

This is the second project for the critically-acclaimed Queen Sugar creator at OWN; she will also co-executive produce the project with Oprah Winfrey.

Meanwhile, Roquemore and Miller will soon be seen on the big screen. Roquemore will star alongside Aldis Hodge in Brian Banks, and Miller will star in Sylvie with Tessa Thompson and Aja Naomi King.

Cherish the Day is set to premiere in the winter of 2020.
