In a new video, Kelly Rowland allows fans to go behind the scenes of the photo shoot for her appearance on the cover of SHAPE magazine‘s October 2013 issue.
In the video, the X Factor judge also dishes out advice about beauty routines — “I learned from a young age do no go to bed with make-up on, I make sure to wash my face” — to diet tips — “I just know what makes me feel good. I think that we pretty much know what feels good to our bodies, what makes us feel lethargic and I don’t like to feel lethargic.”
So what does she eat for breakfast? Kelly says, “My trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, taught me how food should work for you so in the mornings, I will have a couple egg whites, maybe four or five.” For lunch, she says “Some spinach salad, I love arugula. I love the bite and the spiciness with little bit of balsamic sprinkled on top.”
She insists that working out is a must to maintain her physique. “We pretty much do cardio. We do boxing, We do sprints. We do circuit training. [Jeanette] switches it up all of the time and that’s what I love about working with her,” she says. “So if you have ten minutes and you want to burn, and you still want to eat something, put a little bit of salt on something, have a little bit of a cupcake, you better sprint it out.”
The October issue of SHAPE magazine is available on newsstands now.
