It was a salute to the music of the ‘90s, and all the performers had fond memories of their first time at the iconic venue in Harlem.  Ricky Bell said, “It’s always an honor to be on this stage after 33 years.”

Bell Biv DeVoe closed the show with a three-song set, starting with “Do Me Baby,” followed by the ballad,“When Will I See You Smile Again?” Then the trio brought the entire crowd to its feet for their classic, “Poison.”

Salt-N-Pepa opened with “Whatta Man,” dedicating the song “to all the fine men in Harlem.” Performing with three male dancers, they followed with “Shoop.” Then the crowd erupted for their finale, “Push It.” Salt expressed their appreciation for the crowd support, saying, “We want to thank you for 31 years.”

Brandy opened with her 2002 hit, “What About Us?,” then paid tribute to her late mentor, Whitney Houston, by performing “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and “How Will I Know.”

Grammy-winner Brandy remembered her first time at the Apollo, telling the crowd: “I was 15. I didn’t want to get booed!   “They didn’t boo me.”

Dwayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Tone! also was grateful to return to the Apollo, saying, “We came here in 1888. Thirty years ago.” The trio performed “Anniversary, “Whatever You Want” and closed with “Feels Good.”
