Parkwood/Columbia RecordsBeyonce has sent the #BeyHive into yet another frenzy after dropping off a demo version of the fan favorite Lemonade cut “Sorry.”
The revisited single arrives with the album’s re-release across all streaming services, to commemorate the third anniversary of its debut. But in addition to opening up the former TIDAL exclusive to the masses, Bey threw in an added twist, gifting fans with an alternate version of “Sorry.”
Unlike the album version, “Sorry (Original Demo)” is a somber ballad. While the lyrics in both versions are nearly identical, the demo showcases Beyonce’s impressive vocal range.
In the hours since its release, the Hive has taken to social media to praise the Grammy-winning powerhouse for her reprise of the track.
“After listening to ‘Sorry (Original Demo)’ on repeat for the last hour, we’ve decided to hate JAY-Z again. Our sis was really going through it,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
Another echoed similar sentiments, writing, “I didn’t forgive JAY-Z back then and I sure as hell ain’t forgive him now. ESPECIALLY after listening to the ‘Sorry Original Demo.'”
In other Beyonce-related news, the singer is encouraging her legion of fans to take part in the #BeforeILetGo challenge, a dance craze inspired by her cover of the Maze and Frankie Beverly hit of the same name.
