Black Panther’s Letitia Wright signs on to star in fact-based thriller The Silent Twins

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wright, along with British rising star Tamara Lawrance, will lead the cast of the film, which is based on the real-life story of June and Jennifer Gibbons — twins with the unique ability to silently communicate with each other.

Born in the West Indies and raised in Wales, the two girls were said to have an intense bond and were known for engaging in criminal and violent activity. They were later put into a high-security mental health hospital, where doctors hoped to understand them. However, the twins had other plans and decided that only one would survive.

This isn’t the first time the Gibbons sisters have been the subject of a feature film. In 1986 The Silent Twins aired on the BBC, and in 1994, BBC released the documentary Silent Twin — Without My Shadow.

Wright’s other forthcoming projects include starring in the Murder on the Orient Express sequel Death on the Nile, Steve McQueen‘s television series Small Axe, and the film Hold Back the Stars.
