ABC/Craig SjodinAfter serenading us for decades, Boyz II Men singer Wanya Morris is getting ready to show off his moves. The singer has joined season 22 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, premiering later this month. Morris tells ABC Radio why he agreed to do the show.
“I mean, I thought it was a great experience,” he says. “It’s [an] awesome chance to grow, you know, change your, I guess you can say, change your entertainment field a little bit, and just, you know, lose weight and at the end of the day to win.”
The singer adds that he has some surprise dance themes planned. “There’s a lot of different things that we’re going to be doing. It’s going to be surprising. Some of it is going to be very, very heart wrenching hopefully and people will be able to enjoy the interpretations of each song and I’m very excited,” he says.
The confident singer adds that he and his partner Lindsay Arnold expect to win it all. “Look man, let me tell you something, I didn’t say yes to lose,” he says. “You know what I mean, Lord willing, you know and which I’m sure He is, you know at the end of the day Z-pack and Wanyizzle-yazzy will be holding up the mirror ball.”
Wanya is competing against fellow celebs Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Fields, Super Bowl MVP Von Miller, Pittsburgh Steelers baller Antonio Brown, actress Mischa Barton, actor Nyle DiMarco, Donald Trump‘s ex-wife Maria Maples, football star Doug Flutie, journalist Geraldo Rivera, television personality Ginger Zee, Full House star Jodie Sweeten and mixed martial artist Paige VanZant.
