In an interview with HuffPost Live, Christina revealed that it all came down to bad timing. “What’s fantastic about everything is that we’re adults and we understand maybe it is not the right time for us,” she says. “But we do love each other. The best thing is to preserve our friendship and not ruin it by trying to force it. It takes a big man and a big woman to say, ‘I’m in love with you but I can’t keep forcing it — and it’s only pushing us apart.’”
Milian also reflected on what it was like dating the rap legend. “He’s a sweetheart. There’s sides to him that I don’t think anybody knows. He’s just a really, really nice guy,” she says. “When the two of us are in the right place, we are adventurous, we try new things. I think that’s one of the most exciting things about relationships, is being spontaneous.”
The couple first began dating in in July 2014 and released several collaborations including last year’s “Start a Fire,” “Rebel,” and most recently Milian’s “Do It.”
