Image Courtesy Epic RecordsCiara isn’t holding anything back on her new single, “I Bet,” the first off her upcoming sixth album.
After calling off her engagement last year, reportedly due to infidelity, the singer exposes her former lover for cheating in the mid-tempo tune — a scenario that seemingly resembles her painful past with ex-fiancé Future.
“I bet you start loving me as soon as I start loving someone else, somebody better than you. I bet you start needing me as soon as you see me with someone else, somebody other than you,” she sings.
A scorned Ciara even calls out the mistress: “Is that your bitch over there givin’ me the ugly stare/The one with the silicone ass and the Brazilian hair,” she sings.
“I Bet,” which was produced by Harmony Samuels and co-written by Rock City, is sure to resonate with fans. “I imagine this song will be very meaningful for a lot of people. It is much bigger than any one person’s experience,” Ciara tells Billboard.
In addition, the singer also confirmed via Twitter that her forthcoming project is titled Jackie.“I Named My Album #JACKIE After My Mom Because I Can Now See The World Through Her Eyes,” she tweeted of the album, due this spring.
The follow-up to 2013’s Ciara will include production from Polow Da Don, Dr. Luke, and Diane Warren.
