Ciara talks unexpected Level Up success, says she wants to have as many kids as I can

by

ABC/Mitch HaasethCiara made a successful comeback in 2018 with “Level Up,” and she’s proud that she was able to prove her doubters were wrong.

“I was told that it wasn’t going to be very successful,” the Grammy-winner tells InStyle.com, speaking about “Level Up.” “That people wouldn’t believe in it.”

The song was Ciara’s first new music in three years, and her fans showed their approval with over 150 million views of the video on YouTube.

“I put it out, and as soon as I opened my eyes the next morning, people were re-creating the video,” she says. “I get goose bumps just thinking about it.”

Now the singer from Austin, Texas is preparing to drop her seventh album later this year on her own label, Beauty Marks Entertainment.

“There are so many learning curves that I’m going through with having my own company, but it’s so fun,” Ciara says. “I feel like I’m growing, and I feel free.”

The album will include her latest single, “Greatest Love,” which is dedicated to her husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. After breaking up with rapper Future in 2014, Ciara married Wilson two years later. She says she’s finally found true love with someone who gives her all the support she needs.

“He’s my sounding board for pretty much everything I do in my life,” she says. “He doesn’t want to see me fail. He’s got my back. That’s an awesome feeling.”

The “Goodies” singer has two children, son Future, 4, and daughter Sienna, 2. Ciara loves being a mother, and she’s looking forward to adding to her family.

“I want to have as many kids as I can,” Ciara reveals. “My kids keep me young. They keep me active. They give me purpose. They just make it all make sense.”
