Def Jam RecordingsTeyana Taylor has unveiled her first collection with Pretty Little Things as creative director, giving social media followers a preview of her 1990s-inspired collection.
In a collage of Instagram photos, the multifaceted music and fashion icon commands our attention wearing a black leather bra and pants set, matching hat and sizzling dark red lip. “Women who wear black live colorful lives,” she captions the photo.
In another image, the Harlem native shows off her sensational curves in a brown skin-tight jumpsuit, joined in two other photos by her stylish gal pals, who wear similar styles. “No need to be greedy I got mad friends that’s pretty. Melanin by the layers, all different flavors woo!” Teyana writes.
Teyana’s collection is a true reflection of her everyday 90s aesthetic with neon colors, super-sexy body con dresses, tie-dye print bodysuits, and crop tops.
“There is not a soul in this world who doesn’t know that I’m in love with the ’90s,” the 30-year-old tells STYLECASTER. She said she was intentional about creating “a perfect balance of what I represent when I’m outside and when I’m going out.”
“I think this line is perfect because it’s literally pieces of me, Teyana. I think that’s the most important thing: For a woman to just feel beautiful and feel sexy, so they feel amazing in whatever they got on,” she continues. “That’s why I’m so big on making sure that there’s something in there for everybody.”
Teyana’s 25-piece collection is available today at PrettyLittleThings.com, ranging in price between $20-$145. It also includes reflective sweat pants, wide-legged trousers, a variety of brown and black dresses and jumpsuits, and a brown leather varsity jacket with “New York” embroidered across the chest.
