Drake praises his hometown as Travis Scott joins him onstage in Toronto

by

Republic RecordsDrake took the stage in his home city of Toronto on Tuesday, and during his show, he praised his hometown for passing on important lessons to him.

“Always knew we had something special, but I promise you that it never would have lasted this long if it wasn’t for this city and your support and your love for all these years,” Drake told the sold-out crowd. “I’m forever grateful. Everywhere I go I carry the values of this city with me.”

Drizzy also took a swipe at the United States.

“Every night that I go and I do a show in America, I tell them I tell them that this is how the world is supposed to work,” he continued. “Cause you see, tonight, we got 17,000 people inside one building from all races, from all places, and all we doing is just listening to music and smoking and drinking and enjoying our lives and I want you to know that’s something I learned right here in Toronto.”

During the show, the “In My Feelings” rapper brought Travis Scott on stage. He performed his hits “Sicko Mode” and “Goosebumps,” according to Billboard.

The Aubrey and The Three Migos tour was originally scheduled to play the Toronto Scotiabank Arena Monday, but the show was postponed.  Drake will perform again in Toronto Wednesday; the tour moves to New York City for seven shows beginning Friday.
