Republic RecordsDrake was a surprise performer on DaBaby’s show Tuesday night in Toronto, and Drizzy was full of admiration as he welcomed him to his hometown.
“I used to sit in my house and I used to watch videos of you,” the four-time Grammy winner says in video of the moment posted to a fan’s Twitter. “2018, 2017, I used to watch you rep your city. I used to watch you love your city. And look, we don’t say this to each other enough as rappers but I wanna say congratulations. You’re killing this s***.”
Drake performed “Money in the Grave,” and he told the crowd he has new music coming in the new year.
“I love you with all my heart,” Drizzy said. ”I’mma go back to the crib and try to finish this album up so we can turn up in 2020.”
The new release will be the follow-up to Drake’s five-times platinum 2016 album, Scorpion.
