Walt Disney Television/Lou RoccoFans are finally getting a first look at Tyler Perry‘s new BET+ drama, Ruthless.
The upcoming series, which is a spinoff of Tyler Perry’s The Oval on BET, follows a woman named Ruth and her young daughter, who both become entangled in a cult of sex-crazed fanatics. Ruth, who was first introduced on The Oval, is said to “play along” as part of the cult until she can figure out a way to free herself and her young child.
In the teaser, Ruth, played by Melissa L. Williams, is seen walking around the cult compound as she learns this will be her new home.
Fans were quick to chime in with their thoughts on Perry’s new drama.
“Damn I may need to get the app back I wanna see where this goes,” tweeted one fan.
“Ruth back on the scene,” shared another. “Look like we’ll get to know more about this cult in Ruthless.”
The hour-long series also stars Matt Cedeño, Lenny Thomas, Yvonne Senat Jones, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Jaime Callica, Nirine S. Brown, Blue Kimble, Stephanie Charles, Herve Clermont, Anthony Bless, and Bobbi Baker James.
Written and directed by Perry, Ruthless will join BET+’s other original series, including Perry’s Bruh, Tracy Oliver’s First Wives Club, and Will Packer’s Bigger.
Tyler Perry’s Ruthless arrives on BET+ March 19.
