Gabrielle Union and Jeremy Pope have been tapped to star in the new drama, The Inspection

According to Deadline, photographer Elegance Bratton wrote and will direct the autobiographical feature film, which begins production this summer. Pope will play “a young gay man who enlists in the Marines,” while Union plays “his mother, whose approval he is desperate to win.”

Deadline has also learned that filmmaker David E. Talbert and his wife and producing partner, Lyn Sisson-Talbert, are set to executive-produce Better Late, a new comedy from LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s The Springhill Company and ABC Signature.

Better Late is inspired by Talbot’s real-life, telling the story of a “first-time dad, whose world gets turned upside down when his own father, a charismatic deadbeat, shows back up hoping for a do-over with his son and a relationship with his grandson.”

“The multi-camera comedy is a show about forgiveness, second chances, and the search for silver linings even in the cloudiest of situations,” the description continues.

And lastly, VH1’s popular series, Love & Hip-Hop, is returning to Atlanta with some of its original cast, including Rasheeda Frost, Spice, Bambi, Erica Mena, Karlie Redd and more.

Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta dropped the trailer for its tenth season featuring rising female rappers Yung Baby Tate, Renni Rucci and Omeretta The Great, who have all earned co-signs from heavy-hitters like Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Kevin Gates and more.

After canceling shooting for Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta in March 2020 due to the pandemic, the VH1 series will return on July 5th at 8 p.m. ET, starring Yandy Smith-Harris and Mendeecees Harris from Love & Hip-Hop: New York.
