Taylor Hill/Getty Images for Governors BallDonald Glover might be closing the curtains on his rap career as Childish Gambino.
The artist hinted at the possibility during his performance of “Redbone” at the Governors Ball music festival over the weekend, telling fans, “I’ll see you for the last Gambino album.”
If it’s true Glover’s putting an end to Childish Gambino, it’s not surprising. He’s got plenty of other projects in the works, in addition to his Golden Globe-winning TV series, Atlanta.
He’s playing Lando Calrissian in the currently untitled forthcoming Han Solo standalone Star Wars film, and he’ll voice Simba in the live-action re-imagined version of The Lion King.
Glover’s also confirmed as the co-creator, co-executive producer and co-writer of an upcoming animated Deadpool television series.
Season two of Atlanta‘s scheduled to premiere next year.
