WWD reports that findings from online research firm Slice Intelligence show that in its first month of operation, Fenty Beauty sales were five times that of Kylie Cosmetics.
In its second month, Fenty Beauty garnered 34 percent more sales than Kylie.
RiRi launched Fenty Beauty in September, while Kylie launched her makeup range in 2016, after the sold-out success of her Kylie Lip Kit line.
Kim’s KKW debuted in June.
Kylie told WWD in August that she sold $420 million worth of Kylie Cosmetics products in retail sales “in just 18 months.”
In addition, the publication reported in June that Kim’s KKW beauty brand was expected to rake in $14.4 million within mere minutes of its release.
The actual sales figures of KKW aren’t known.
Fenty Beauty is only sold in Sephora stores and via Sephora’s website and, according to WWD, has already outpaced sales of celebrity makeup artist and TV personality Kat Von D‘s makeup range.
It became an instant hit, selling out in many locations and also making TIME magazine’s list of the 25 Best Inventions of 2017.
